Collected YS-11 Aircraft

1. YS-11 Proto, JA8611.


ys_3.jpg" This plane was the firstborn YS-11 prototype, which had made a maiden flight at Nagoya Airport back in the summer of 1962. She is being exhibited at Museum of Aeronautical Sciences in Narita, Japan.














2. YS-11 Proto JA8612, Japan Domestic Airways. (JDA)

This plane was the secondborn YS-11 prototype, who was well known as the plane transported "Sacred Fire" of Tokyo Olymic Game from Okinawa to Sapporo. Also, it is memorized as the plane who made an inaugural passenger flight back in April of 1965. She was named as "Seikago" (Scared Fire) that had the livery of Japan Domestic Airlines.











3. YS-11-115 JA8712, Japan Civil Aviation Bureau. (JCAB)

This plane was born at an early stage of YS-11 production scheme. She was owned by the Civil Aviation College until 1972, whereafter she was transferred to the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau. JCAB has utilized this plane for the flight check of Aeronautical Navaids Facility.












4. YS-11-112 (M) 9041, Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force. 61SQ

This YS-11 was the transport plane of JMSDF. YS-11-100, Civil Version, was called M-type, and she is being utilized for personnel transport of JMSDF. The one in this add-on does belong to the 61st Squadron of Shimofusa Airbase of JMSDF, and the illustration of Camel is painted on her body.













5. YS-11A-206 (T-A) 6901, Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force. 205SQ

YS-11A-200 was modified by JMSDF for their ASW training. This is the one for the ASW training. Large scale radome is mounted on the front side of belly, and the plane is used for the training flight of crewmember of an antisubmarine patrol P-3C. She belongs to the 205 Air Training Squadron of Shimofusa Airbase, JMSDF.














6. YS-11A-205 N259P, Piedmont Airlines.

The payload of YS-11-100 was increased by 1000 kg to become YS-11A-205. This type of YS-11s were produced on a large scale. The plane was painted in the old days livery of Piedmon Airlines, who was the first US carrier to operate the YS-11. Piedmont Airlines was in the possession of a total of Twenty-Four YS-11A aircraft and operated the YS-11A from 1968 through 1982. They were the leading Airlines in the region of Southeast area of USA.













7DYS-11A-313 N112MP, Mid Pacific Air.

YS-11A-313 was a pax/cargo combined type of YS-11-200. The forward part of the cabin was used to load the cargo, and the aft cabin was the passenger block with the 48 seating configuration. It has a large door, 2.41m wide and 1.83m long. This plane was painted in the livery of the Mid Pacific Arilines, who had operated around Hawaii.













8. YS-11A-218(FC) 12-1160, Japan Air Self-Defence Force.

The main objective of the flight operation of this YS-11A-218 is to carry out the Flight Insepction of all NAV AIDS of the Defense Agency. Red and White Checker Mark on the tail is distinguishing.













9.YS-11A-402(EB) 02-1159, Japan Air Self-Defence Force. JASDF

This is the Electronics Intelligence (ELINT) YS-11A-402 of JASDF. Type C which was derived from the cargo version of 400 was modified with the new engine, Alison/IHI T64-10J and it has propeller of the Hamilton Standard, three blades. It has a very distinctive looks with the radomes mounted here and there on the body of airplane.













10. YS-11A-402(EA) 12-1163, Japan Air Self-Defence Force.

This plane was derived from the Type C, in the same manner as (EB), and to fly in the JASDF ECM training mission, as support plane. Likewise (EB), it has Alison/IHI T64-10J engine, but it has no radome. 3 blades prop.
